Designing Slow Life Conference will be organized in the City of Lahti, located in the Southern Finland, 100 km north of the Capital Helsinki. The Conference Venue, Lahti Halli at the Lahti Fair Centre (Salpausselänkatu 7) is located in the city centre.
Slow Dinner on March 24th at the Country Restaurant Hollolan Hirvi (The Elk of Hollola), located in a peaceful country landscape, only 15 minutes from Lahti by car.
The location at the southern slope of Salpausselkä is one of the oldest settled areas in Finland. The first elks lived there approximately 10500 years ago and the first population just over 10000 years ago. At this area men have cultivated barley and brewed beer over 2000 years.
Hollolan Hirvi is specialized in traditional, local food, especially venison food, and with Finnish food the restaurant recommends beer or sahti, the oldest beer style in the world still alive, from Hollolan Hirvi’s own microbrewery. The history of the farm goes back to 500 years and the present family has owned the farm since year 1725.
